Client Project - Flooring Refresh

Client Project - Flooring Refresh

In September - right before the baby arrived, I worked on a design project in Kansas City that focused on refreshing a client's sitting room floors. We needed to find something new that would go with her existing fabrics and room style.

The walls showcased wood paneling throughout and there was a mix of dark brown leather, grey toned fabric, and white-washed brick. From a color perspective, the warmth from the wood and the red in the fabric needed more grey brought into the space to balance the overall look further.

Regarding material choice, while we first looked at replacing the carpet - we ended up going with something more robust. Shown below are some carpet options we considered in a durable grey color palette. This carpet was called Abbey's Road and is by Anderson Tuftex; furthermore it can be sourced and sampled at Designer's Library.

We ended up swapping out the client's existing carpet for luxury vinyl plank flooring. Since this space is right off a back patio and because it sees a lot of use the material needed to be both durable and beautiful.

See the AFTER photo below! It came out great and the client was very satisfied.

Let's connect regarding your design needs! What are you looking to replace or redo?
