What does it mean to be a woman living today in the USA? It could very well mean becoming a mother. And it definitely means that journey comes with more or less acknowledgement and care depending on the geographical state you live in. Given the current political climate, women are left to constantly monitor how laws govern their personal decisions. Whether motherhood is planned or unplanned women are left to piece together their own resources along the way - through pregnancy and then through postpartum.
While there is a deficit of collective discussion about the motherhood and postpartum journey in American society today (2025)...there are some front-runners in the business community who are invested in championing positive, forward-momentum around the subject.
FRONT-RUNNERS IN POSTPARTUM 2.0
Below is a glimpse inside of the most amazing looking resource for women interested in motherhood located in Miami, Florida. It is called The One Tribe and their Instagram account has 10k followers! Did I mention that the interiors are impeccably appointed (see below).
Their mission is articulated beautifully, and simply with the graphic below showing all the stages of motherhood that their business supports (i.e. before, beginning, bump, big bump, baby & beyond)! Acknowledging a women's journey at all of these stages is critically important in today's world. And frankly, in the USA the collective "we" is "asleep at the wheel" when it comes to this type of support for women. But there are some front-runners like The One Tribe (and others I've mentioned in previous blog posts) who are offering invaluable experiences that a large percentage of women want and need. Additionally the market for these types of services not only "isn't going anywhere" - it's likely to increase in popularity!
I have experienced and continue to experience a wonderful version of this type of community and connection in Kansas City at Home Holistic in downtown Overland Park. I utilized them during and after my pregnancy and birth. They offer a number of things - prenatal yoga, mama+baby yoga, a book club, a music for milestones class, doula services, and access to a long list of related in-house practitioners.

WHICH STARS ARE TALKING ABOUT POSTPARTUM TODAY?
In 2022 Hayden Panettiere opened up about her struggle with Postpartum depression and alcoholism.
And in February 2025 perhaps you have saw the "viral" video clip (CLICK HERE) between Call Her Daddy podcast host, Alexandra, and Kylie Kelce regarding her postpartum experience (see full video below)?
Additionally, Kelce has continued to speak on the topic (i.e. motherhood and postpartum) on her own podcast, Not Gonna Lie. Her most recent episode on the subject from April 2025 currently has 641k views and 22k "likes" on YouTube - and her show has a reach of 326k subscribers.
It is through more and more dialogue like this subtly woven into our societal fabric that we are able to as a collective begin to openly acknowledge what has been spoken quietly and privately for so long. The need to greater support a woman's motherhood journey!
There are some amazing organizations that are championing the dialogue - like The Female Quotient for example who talks about this subject amongst other critically important topics. See an example of their messaging and reach below! And the organization, Postpartum Support International (PSI) exists to help as well providing foundational data around the topic - they are especially a crucial resource for women regarding the topic of postpartum depression.

I am finding through my own Postpartum journey that one thing that is needed more than ever is a Postpartum "club" that can be a soft landing place for women for one year (or more) after birth...walking mothers through the changes we encounter along the way. For example, the dated message of "bouncing back," regarding one's body during postpartum, has been ridiculed in online chat rooms and there is a need for a more refreshing perspective.
POSTPARTUM NEEDS A SOCIETAL REBRAND
So the question begging for an answer is...who is going to do this?? There is a need for someone/some organization to facilitate a connection between moms and postpartum "experts" (who can assist them through related transitions). Overall, it's like postpartum needs a societal rebrand and again someone to lead the charge.
Essentially, a women post-birth is "not the same person as she was before." Therefore all aspects of her "new existence" need to be unpacked and addressed in a loving and safe way. Everything from the physical aspects of her life as a woman - think fashion, fitness, makeup, home organization, self-care, etc. to the emotional. It really requires a holistic approach. Which brings me to my next activity (of course - wink, wink).
